PROGRAM COMPONENTS:
Since 1999 TeamWorksArt has demonstrated success in three areas:
VISUAL ARTS EDUCATION:TeamWorksArt resident artists partner with classroom teachers providing weekly art sessions throughout the year. Artists create a social climate where students are creatively engaged in arts-learning and collaboration. Additionally, guest artists and volunteers are invited, bringing technical skills for community projects. With elective credits earned for TeamWorksArt classes students motivate towards a successful completion of high school.

MENTORING & APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITIES:TeamWorksArt provides mentoring workshops during afterschool hours in community venues to students who demonstrate interest in further developing their artistic talent. Paid apprenticeship opportunities are available to individuals curious to explore art as a career path. This can involve working together preparing artwork for professional presentation, installing exhibits, or assisting in a master artist’s studio.
|
COMMUNITY PROJECTS & EXHIBITS:Student exhibitions and participation in public art projects build a bridge to the broader community while modeling professional presentation of artwork. Student participation in community art projects develops engaged connection, heightens pride and self-confidence, and demonstrates youth positively contributing to the community.
